Worried About Pool Construction Challenges?  We’re not!

At some point during the course of deciding whether a pool is right for your family, you may have some apprehensions about the extensive construction involved in the building of a gunite swimming pool.

Building an in-ground structure on a residential property can have its challenges, ranging from weather and yard access, to town restrictions and underground utilities. You may have even heard or experienced a horror story or two. In the next few paragraphs we will address some of the most common questions we field regarding potential construction hurdles.

Every Yard is Unique

Many of our customers raise concerns about whether their yard can physically support a gunite pool and its construction. Smaller plots of land, wooded or marshy areas, unique topographies — we’ve faced them all with great success. Of course, these things may provide slight limitations regarding size, depth, etc., but “impossible” situations are few and far between.

Rules and Regs — We’ll Smooth the Way

Customers often express some worry over the dreaded “restrictions.” The Design Pool & Spa team obtains and manages all authorizations, permission to excavate, and utility adjustments or upgrades, unless the customer prefers otherwise. Depending on the town in which you reside, you may need to submit your own application to install a fence. Overall, our decades of experience make navigating the path of red tape as painless as possible.

Construction on our end can occur in as little as three weeks. Concrete and other cementitious materials may require above-freezing temperatures, but much of the building process continues year-round. No matter the time of year, we take the necessary precautions to ensure maximum yard protection and safety during any down time when the project may be halted. The “start to finish” time is also largely dependent on the complexity of your project and the schedule of other contractors you may choose to complete it. We do maintain solid contact and working relationships with other trade professionals so that together we can best meet your timeline expectations.
